How to Prepare for a House Cleaner
A little preparation before your cleaners arrive helps them spend their time on cleaning rather than moving things around. Here is how to get your home ready for a visit from Totally Tidy Maids.
Pick up loose items
Put away toys, clothes, papers and other loose items so our team can reach counters, floors and surfaces. Cleaners clean surfaces; they are not there to sort or organize your belongings.
Empty the dishwasher
Our cleaners will load dirty dishes into the dishwasher, but they do not unload it or hand wash dishes. Emptying it before the visit gives them room to work.
Leave fresh sheets out
If you would like beds changed, leave clean sheets out where your cleaners can find them.
Secure your pets
Please keep pets secured during the visit. It keeps them safe and calm, and it lets the team move through your home easily.
Plan for access
If you will not be home, arrange how the team will get in. Keys are kept in a locked box that only supervisors can access. If our cleaners need to enter through a building lobby, a $5 fee may apply.
Share your priorities
Tell us which rooms or details matter most to you. A short note about problem areas helps us focus where you will notice it most.
Payment and scheduling
Payment is due on the day of service by cash, check or PayPal. If you leave payment, please use a sealed envelope.
You will receive a reminder email the day before your cleaning.
If you need to cancel, let us know at least 24 hours ahead to avoid a lock-out or cancellation fee.
